Johnson Motors, Inc. was the Number One Distributor of Triumph, Ariel and Indian Motorcycles in California. They made Motorcycle racing cool while the Brits, in particular Edward Turner, Chief Designer and Manager at Triumph ‘frowned upon racing his motorcycles’. They actively supported Californian Motorcycle Racing; sponsoring their own riders and creating a department specifically to design motorcycles for racing.

The Cult following generated by the rebellious and dangerous image of Motorcyles was soon adopted by the Hollywood screen; Marlon Brando, James Dean, Clint Eastwood, Richard Gere, Steve McQueen and so many more legends used Johnson Motors Bikes as an extention of their heroic character.
