Scooter Grip Covers or Muffs have been around for a few years and we're always surprised just how many people use them! Although saying that we use them ourselves and they make your bike so much more usable when it's a bit nippy or rainy!

As Tucano Urbano's Key Partner in the UK we only market their Scooter Grip Covers or Muffs - well, simply because we think they're the best!

We offer both the neoprene grip cover/mitt: this isn't marketed as waterproof but we've never had anyone mention about water ingress and while they're the smaller of the two options they're still quite substantial, coming a few inches up your wrist. There are two options to fit different scooters and motorcycles - R360 for grips with normal rubber ends or R361 for grips with weighted metallic bar ends. These scooter grip covers come in 3 designs (regular branding/shark face/bear paw).

One consideration is that these are mitten shaped and you will be pressing 'through the material' to touch your indicators etc!

If you're after something a bit more substantial/'waterproof'/with direct contact of your controls we highly recommend Tucano Urbano's Nylon Hand Grip Covers.

Again these come in different configurations for bike/bar size, for example:

The Fred Perry Clothing company has long been associated with the British Mod scene, so the Fred Perry X Vespa collaboration comes as no surprise. Looks like the scooters are going to be available in a very limited run of 100 scooters to be offered in Europe, Japan, and the USA sometime in August. Amazing! Riding unprotected!?

We were in central London yesterday and it's an obvious thing to say but it's also the scooter capital of the UK...big wheels, small wheels, Italian scooters, Japanese scooters, Chinese scooters!

There are simply thousands of scooter riders in London, and it never fails to amaze us just how many ride unprotected!

We saw scooter riders in thin rain jackets and most in regular coats which may provide a small degree of weather protection but meet the tarmac at even 30mph and it won't be just a a cloud of feathers or filling that's all over the road.

Tucano Urbano Bora: What can we say - our best selling jacket, closely followed by Parka Lady T and Urbana Lady T.

Tucano Urbano's Bora is very similar to the men's Libeccio with it's military styling but cut for the female form.

Gents - it's proven: we're boring! While black if pretty popular in the Bora, the fairer sex seem comfortable with some more colour in their scootering life. The Bora also comes in green, red and sand!

Again a jacket for all seasons, with removable winter padding and ready bike/street wearability!

Tucano Urbano Libeccio: We could review something we have gathering dust on the shelves with a view to shifting it, but we don't have anything like that, so thought it appropriate to review some of our most popular items - after all there must be good reason for folk to keep coming back for more!

Tucano Urbano's Libeccio Scooter Jacket is our best selling men's scooter jacket, closely followed by the Urbis T and Parka T. The Libeccio is truly a jacket for all seasons and is eminently wearable on or off your ride.

The Libeccio comes with full CE approved shoulder and elbow protection plus back protective padding - it's all removeable, so if you've covered your bike up for a couple of weeks, just whip the armour out and it's good for the pub, the high street or that weeekend away! Oh, and the outer shell is fully breathable and waterproof, with a hood tucked into the collar for added protection.

About 50% of the Libeccio's we supply are black, but don't discount the other colours, they're smart and colourful without being garish - there's black, green, red, sand and blue.

WITH the global credit crunch currently squeezing finances, many people are giving up their cars and jumping on to scooters.

We're delighted that so many people are losing a car and taking to two wheels - scooters are infinitely cheaper to buy and run, and so much less impactful on the environment, most will give you 70+ mpg!

You can pick up a decent 2nd hand scooter for around £500. You can obviously pay a lot more especially given you can get 800cc scooters these days, but essentially you are opting for a mode of transport that is going to pay you back in spades, both financially and in smiles per mile!

Tucano Urbano's Termoscud Leg Covers have become the industry standard. They're well made, smart and robust. This was the first product Tucano Urbano developed and their success has been built upon it's popularity.

Hello chilly scooter riders - given the prolonged cold spell we thought we'd review probably the best scooter leg covers on the market.

The Termoscud comes in '79' variants to accommodate the huge diversity of scooters on the market.

Some leg covers feature the Thermal Control System which recycles hot air from the radiator outlets - keeping you nice and toasty (we've got one of these on a Vespa GTS - and it's fantastic!). We do our best to shop locally or with companies that are happy to share their vision and ethics, so we think it's only right that you know a bit about us so you can make an informed decision about where to invest your hard earned.

Phil - the owner of scooter-wear.com launched Vroom By The Sea back in April of 2008 after leaving the travel industry following the takeover of GB Airways by easyJet, where he was a sales and marketing manager. Phil had always been around scooters, both vintage and modern, and saw the opportunity to bring the residents and visitors to Brighton and the South Coast the opportunity to experience the fun and freedom of riding piaggio's iconic Vespa.

Vroom By The Sea launched to huge local and national interest, given that there are very few other scooter hire companies in the UK, and Brighton has long been an adopted home of scootering. We have 20 bikes comprising of Piaggio Zip50's, Vespa LX50's, Vespa LX125's, Vespa PX125's, Vespa GTS125's and Honda CG125's. Over 1000 vroomers have followed their front wheel to date, and everyone without exception has left with a huge smile on their face. Naming your Vespa 'Daniela' doesn't sound too strange, but a Vespa made almost entirely from wood!?

We think Carlos Alberto's beautifully crafted wooden Vespa is quite stunning...he'll be getting some admiring glances from jealous ladies and gents alike!

A few of our staff have plumped for the Armadillo Scooterwear Camovision such is the jacket's appeal. It's quite funny watching 3 guys wizz off in matching scooter jackets....at least they're not matching fluorescent ski jackets...these really are pretty cool!

The guys at Armadillo really have put a lot of thought into the design and manufacture: the jackets are 'mid length' in that they are not blouson/waist length but can be drawn up to sit nicely without chilly gaps. CE rated d3o™ intelligent shock absorption has been used for the elbow and shoulder protection - these are really comfortable and unobtrusive, but when impacted at high speeds d3o™ displays excellent shock absorption as the Intelligent Molecules inside lock together, spreading the force over the whole pad.

The jackets provide a pretty good level of waterproofing and breathability and have a few nifty additions such as a detachable winter liner and MP3 pocket with headphone loops, plus the design is partly reflective meaning you're so much safer riding at night. (If you want something a little more sober - go for the Armadillo Scooterwear City Rider - same jacket in black!)

Scooter-Wear.com launched in November 2008 to bring the world's best scooter clothing brands together for the first time.

Born from a lifelong passion for scooters, a desire to look good on and off our bikes and the need for quality protection, scooter-wear.com brings together the world's best scooter clothing brands for the first time. For a long time scooter riders have had to choose between looking good on their bikes and possibly riding unprotected, or succumbing to restrictive and dull motorcycle gear. We've made it our mission to bring you cool, quality scooter clothing all with CE rated protection should you and the tarmac ever come together.

We don't sell scooters or bits of scooters, so we can concentrate on bringing you the best value scooter clothing and accessories. We monitor our prices on a daily basis and we're committed to offering free delivery!
